  • “Danny was the first photographer I worked with. I hired him a few years ago to capture some modelling photos that I could use for my portfolio. After working with him, many opportunities arose for me and I am very thankful for that. To say the least, Danny was able to capture me at my best. He is very professional and I can tell he loves what he does. Danny is welcoming, funny and makes you feel extremely comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Thanks Danny!”

Sarah F., In the Entertainment Industry

  • “One of the best shoots our team has done! We were comfortable and excited to shoot with Danny and he did a great job at managing so many people in one shot! Definitely returning with future teammates!”

WHAT DO YOUR PEERS PREFER?

A few of your Burlington-based peers got Gold Headshots, with most choosing to get platinum portraits so that they could stand out from the crowd. Now, given that the entire GTA has millions of people, this number is a relatively small amount so you can still stand out from the rest of the job market by also choosing a platinum portrait.

Or, if you’re opting to shoot personal portraits in Burlington, like family photos or baby portraits, etc., then Legendary portraits is typically the preference amongst clients!

HIRING YOUR Burlington HEADSHOT & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

  • This might seem like a no brainer, but many people ask us “why should I hire a Markham headshot photographer when I can easily have someone else take my picture for free?”

And to that, we often say, go ahead! If you can get the results you want by using a more cost-effective method, why wouldn’t you?

But often, the results people want, and the free methods available to them are in conflict—that is, you get what you pay for.

Often, people have high expectations of what their headshots or portraits should look like. And that typically comes with the benefit of hiring a professional Markham portrait photographer!

  • If you’re looking to shoot with our Markham headshot and portrait photographer inside of our downtown photography studio, you can book your headshot or portrait sessions online via the BOOK NOW portal. You’ll need a valid VISA or MasterCard to book (no AMEX).

If you have any questions about your portrait or headshot session that are not urgent, feel free to email us by using the email form at the bottom footer of our website! If you want slightly prioritized service, send us a text or WhatsApp us at +1 416-277-6355 (tap to open a WhatsApp chat)

When reaching out, make sure to have all your questions listed out and ready to go. If you have them all ready in one message, we’ll be better able to address your inquiries in a timely manner to get you scheduled in faster!

If the nature of your inquiry is urgent, or if you want to schedule a last minute shoot, feel free to call. We answer most calls!

  • If you’d like to schedule your photoshoot elsewhere than at our downtown photography studio, it’s best to inquire directly with us. Please note that it is more cost effective and easy to simply shoot at our downtown photo studio, as traveling to your office requires more production time to set-up and take down, and travel expenses. For this reason we advise you to consider shooting at our downtown location unless you’ve got a flexible budget.

  • If you’ve never been photographed, that’s ok! We work with plenty of newbies everyday and it’s actually quite a fun experience when you’re guided through it with patience and a can-do, fun, and positive attitude! Trust us, you’ll have a ton of fun, as your Markham portrait photographer Danny is super positive and funny—at least, most of the time!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

  • Although most of the headshots and portraits I capture are shot at my professional photography studio, I can also come to you, on location, for an additional fee if you prefer.

  • Whether capturing headshots or portraits, you’ll want to bring clothes that are clean, wrinkle-free, don’t have too many patterns on them, and match the vibe of the look you’re going for! For example, if you’re shooting corporate LinkedIn photos, best to dress smart casual, or formal. When in doubt, overdressing is best, and no one ever had any issues if they brought an extra outfit or two just in case.

  • You’re welcome to bring someone if that helps you feel more comfortable. Having an additional person that sits quietly off to the side during your shoot is totally fine if it helps you feel better! Please note, that if they are also seeking a photo, this will be an additional charge, and it is of better value to pre-book their photo rather than to request it while in-studio.

Pets are welcome, but only as a last resort. Ideally pets stay at home during your shoot unless they are an active part of your shoot.

As you can see, any distractions we may encounter, may adversely impact your photoshoot so it’s ideal to minimize distractions and potential complications.

  • Each session varies in length. To compare lengths of sessions, please see the BOOK NOW page.

At the beginning of each session we take some time to talk, get comfortable, and build some rapport so it doesn’t feel like you’re shooting with a stranger. Taking the necessary time to be put at ease is important to ensuring you get the highest quality photos possible.

  • You’ll be able to interact with your photos as we shoot them. The photos will be displayed on an almost 50” screen for you to see live how your photos are turning out! If adjustments are needed, we can make them as required so that you get the perfect final shot!

  • As mentioned in this FAQ, you’ll be able to see your photos on an almost 50” screen, and before you leave I’ll ask you which photo(s) you like the most for editing, and that’s what I’ll edit for you!

  • You’ll receive your finished photos via a private custom download link just for you.

  • Honestly, it’s pretty simple.

Get enough sleep the night before, wait to eat until after your shoot, wash your face the night before and the morning of.

Bring wipes to pat your face down in the hot months, as well as a little extra powder to reduce the sheen of your skin.

Wear simple outfits, reducing any crazy textures or patterns. Wear outfits of similar tones/brightness to your current skin tone. (i.e. if you’re albino, wearing a white or cream sweater might be a good idea! If you have a very dark skin tone, wearing dark clothes will photograph well too!)

Remember, that although you’ll be coming here to get professional photos done, you are also allowed to enjoy yourself in the process. This is a new experience, something different than usual, and it can be a ton of fun, if you allow it to be!

  • Your photographer Danny has over a dozen years of experience capturing photos professionally. Safe to say, he expertly knows what he’s doing.

  • Tap on BOOK NOW to book.

If you see the time and date available in the instant-booking calendar, then the times are available (unless there are any notices advising of the contrary).

So if you see the time, just book it!

  • We use only the most professional, high-grade equipment which guarantees you’ll get the highest quality photographs possible.

Our cameras and lenses are a mix of both pro-end Canon and Sony equipment.

  • Generally you can expect for some skin retouching, sharpening, colour balance, tone enhancement and contrast to give your photos more of a pop!

We don’t go overboard though, as we want your portrait to be honest and representative of the real you.

Photos are edited in the most up-to-date version of Adobe Photoshop, with the latest tools always being available to edit your photos.

  • You can expect to get your photo pretty promptly. For headshots it takes a maximum of 3 business days, and for portraits it may take up to 5 business days.

You can always speed your turnaround time to 24 hours for headshots or 48 hours for portraits in the automated booking system when making your reservation. Just look for the checkboxes before you go into the calendar view!

  • Please schedule enough time to arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled start time to avoid lateness, as less time on set means less time building rapport (and thus getting comfortable), and less time spent shooting. This will adversely impact your photos.

Your scheduled start time and end time should be honoured. If extenuating circumstances arise and I am unable to push back your scheduled start time or you can no longer make it in time before my next appointment, we may need to entirely reschedule your shoot.

  • Yes. There are elevators in the building, and the studio and washroom are all wheelchair accessible.

  • A lot of photography studios are located in old buildings with maze-like tunnels making the units feel like they’re impossible to find!

Well, you’re in luck. We are in an old building but we’re located right by the street entrance to the building so it’s impossible to miss our unit.

  • You can bring and do your own if you’d like.

Otherwise, makeup & hair is available upon request, and if the makeup & hair team is available. This will be an extra charge depending on the makeup and hair artists booked.

Suggested to go as natural as possible for your photoshoot, and if you do want to go a little more “dolled up”, it’s recommended you show up already made up, rather than booking studio time to do your makeup and hair, as this increases the total fee for your session.

Burlington Portrait Photographer

What is portrait photography?

Portrait photography is simply taking pictures of people. Portraits can be individual or group photos, and they can range from casual snapshots to high-quality images with studio lighting and high-resolution digital cameras. Portrait photography plays a large role in many different types of industries: fashion, modeling, headshots for business professionals and actors, senior pictures for school yearbooks or family archives, candid shots at weddings or parties, even aerial photographs for real estate listings. Portrait photographers are responsible for capturing the essence of their subjects using various techniques that can include natural light, studio lights, location shoots outdoors ,and more. Whether you're taking fun photos just because you need them or want to take your client's business the next level with quality professional portraits

Who should get their portraits done?

Portrait photography can be a fun way to capture and share memories. Portraits are also great for business and professional purposes: headshots, modelling portfolios, and real estate images all need portraits of some kind in order to connect with clients or customers. Portraits can be taken solo or in groups; the more people in the photo, the longer it takes to get everyone looking their best. Portraits can also range from artistic and creative photos meant just for personal enjoyment to high-quality photoshoots that will be used for marketing materials or commercial products

Why is portrait photography useful?

Portrait photography is a great way to capture the essence of your subject, whether you're photographing someone's beautiful smile or their sense of humor. Portraits are also useful for business purposes -- your headshots are your first impression, after all! Portrait photography can turn an ordinary photo into something that really expresses who you are as a person .

Portrait photos may be used for very different reasons, but no matter what they're being used for, every portrait should have one thing in common: personality. Portraits reveal so much about a person even without words--the flare of the nostrils or the angle of their chin says so much about what kind of mood they might be in. Amateurs let subjects do whatever they want, but professionals do a combination of that and directing their subjects!

What do I need to know about portrait photography?

Portrait photographers work with their subjects to make sure they're looking their best, whether it's preparing them mentally for the shoot or helping them pick flattering clothing. Portraits are all about people, so a successful photo session requires a lot of interaction between photographer and subject! Portrait photography requires high-quality equipment so shots come out sharp and crisp. Portraits can be taken in various settings: a studio, an outdoor location, or even inside the client's home so they feel comfortable .

What do I need to have?

There are many different types of cameras that can be used for portrait photography. Portraits really depend on lighting though—a camera with great low light performance is ideal for portrait sessions as natural lighting is always preferred over using artificial light that can leave weird coloring and shadows. Portraits really depend on lighting though--a great camera is one that takes high-quality pictures in low-light conditions, but a professional photographer needs a lighting kit to provide the best possible results . Portrait sessions work best outside so there's plenty of natural light, which means having a back up plan for rain or bad weather conditions is important too!

Portrait photography requires patience, so being able to wait for just the right moment before pressing the shutter button can be extremely beneficial. Portraits need emotional range as well: smiling faces, serious expressions, laughing eyes all have their place in portrait photography. Portrait photographers should know how to pose subjects-- not just plunk them down somewhere

What should you wear during a photoshoot?

What to wear for a portrait session mostly depends on the type of portrait you're getting. Portraits can be taken in any setting, so there are no set fashion rules! If it's an outdoor shoot, fashion should never get in the way of comfort ; being comfortable makes people more relaxed and therefore shows their true personality

In conclusion

Portrait photography is a great way to capture the personality of your subject, whether it's for personal enjoyment or for business purposes. Portraits can be taken in any setting, and professional photographers know how to pose subjects so they look their best. In order to get high-quality portraits, you need a good camera that takes pictures in low-light conditions and patience! Portrait photography requires emotional range as well: smiling faces, serious expressions, laughing eyes all have their place in portrait photography.
